To nurture the ones who nurture our future… by prioritizing the emotional health, professional resilience, and collective strength of early childhood educators and leaders in the Big Bend region.
To nurture the ones who nurture our future by prioritizing the emotional health, professional resilience, and collective strength of early childhood educators and leaders in the Big Bend region. We exist to move beyond traditional professional development by addressing the whole person behind the profession—because when educators are supported, children thrive, families stabilize, and communities grow stronger.
To cultivate a resilient network of early childhood leaders in the Big Bend who are emotionally healthy, professionally empowered, and deeply connected—ensuring that every child in our region has access to a stable, nurturing, and high-quality early learning environment.
We believe that you cannot pour from an empty cup. Before we ask educators to implement new curricula or meet new standards, we first ask: "Are you okay?" Our programs begin with the well-being of the leader, because a regulated adult is the single most important factor in a child's development.
Isolation is the silent killer of passion in early childhood education. We build intentional spaces—Wellness Circles, Director Masterminds, and community forums—where educators can share honestly, solve problems collaboratively, and know they are not alone.
We go beyond classroom management techniques to equip educators with genuine emotional intelligence tools—self-regulation strategies, resilience coaching, and reflective practices that transform how they lead, teach, and live.
We advocate not just for better policies, but for a fundamental shift in how our community values and invests in its early childhood workforce. We make the economic and moral case that stabilizing educators stabilizes families, businesses, and the entire Big Bend economy.
The FLAEYC Big Bend Chapter is a local affiliate of the Florida Association for the Education of Young Children (FLAEYC). We support early childhood educators through professional development, wellness programs, peer support, and community advocacy in Florida's Big Bend region.
